Lebanese FM: Doha Summit Will Be Different from Its Predecessors

Doha, March 23

Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour underlined the Arab Summit, scheduled to be held in Doha later this month, will be different from its predecessors due to the critical circumstance currently witnessed by the Arab World.

 

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Lebanese Minister expressed confidence that the upcoming Arab Summit will be successful at all levels.
He believed that holding the summit in Qatar would contribute to enhance the Arab unity and joint work and would come out with practical resolutions to address the current challenges.

 

Among the key issues on the agenda of the summit, Minister Mansour said that Lebanon will raise the issue of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon which suffers the lack of capabilities and resources and could not face burden by itself.
He underlined that the issue of Syrian refugees should be considered seriously, especially that the number of refugees is increasing. Minister Mansour noted that Lebanese President Gen. Michel Suleiman will take part in the Doha Summit on the head of a high-level delegation.

 

He highlighted the strong and brotherly relations between Lebanon and Qatar,

 

pointing out that Lebanon never forgets Qatar's generous support after the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 2006. (QNA)
