24th Arab Summit Wraps UP

Doha, March 26

HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, chairman of the current Arab summit, declared closed tonight the 24th Arab summit conference at the closing session held at Sheraton Doha. Qatar's delegation to the summit was led by HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

 

The closing session was attended by Arab leaders and chief delegates to the summit. It was also

attended by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor al Thani.

 

Addressing the closing session, HH The Emir noted that the 24th Arab summit was held in crucial circumstances, expressing his appreciation of the participation of Arab leaders and their contribution to the success of the gathering and reaching an outcome fulfilling the aspirations of the Arab peoples. HH expressed the hope for full implementation of the summit's resolutions. HH also praised the Emir of Kuwait's hosting of the 25h summit in his country. HH also commended preparations made by the Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al Arabi for the summit.

 

The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah delivered a speech in which he offered Kuwait hosting the 25th summit after the Comoros and Palestine apologized for hosting the high-level meeting for "special circumstances in the two countries."

 

Sheikh Sabah appreciated "confidence of brothers in the two countries that the State of Kuwait host the next Arab summit". The Emir of Kuwait commended the positive outcome of the Doha summit which would push forward common Arab action.

 

Then, Assistant Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Ben Helli read out the Doha Declaration issued by the Summit.(END)
